Where to stay on Lake Lanier 40
Resorts, hotels and the companies that manage lake houses.
There is no dominant local rental manager; most lake-house inventory is owner-listed. In Hall County a short-term rental needs a business licence and an inspection, and there is a 24-hour complaint line that enforces against dock parties.

Airbnb and Vrbo lakefront listings
Most Lanier lake houses are rented directly by owners on Airbnb and Vrbo rather than through a resort, and the same homes often appear on both. Summer weekends and holiday weeks book months out, three-night minimums are common, and the listing detail you actually need to read is whether the dock is deep water, whether it has a party top, and how far the walk down to it is.
-
Hall County short-term rental licensing
On the Hall County side, which covers Gainesville, Flowery Branch and most of the north and mid lake, short-term rentals are allowed in all residential zoning but the owner must hold a Short Term Rental Business License, with a $75 building inspection and the fire marshal involved at 16 or more occupants. A rental is defined as a 2 to 30 night stay, and the county runs a 24-hour complaint hotline at 770-637-6647, so noise and dock-party rules get enforced.
-
HomeTeam Luxury Rentals
