Lake Lanier boat ramps 31
Public ramps run by the Corps of Engineers and by Hall, Forsyth and Dawson counties.
Low water? See which ramps are usable at today’s level, lane by lane.
Ramp availability moves with the lake level, and the Corps works it out by comparing the water to the concrete at the end of each ramp. Call the lake-level line on 770-945-1467 before you tow. A Corps pass is not accepted at county ramps and a county pass is not accepted at Corps ramps.
North end 14
Gainesville, Clermont and up the Chattahoochee and Chestatee arms.
-
Balus Creek Park
Four-lane ramp on Balus Creek Drive, now jointly run by the Corps and Hall County, with a card-only fee kiosk that also sells annual passes. One of the wider ramps on the north end, so it moves traffic reasonably well.
-
Belton Bridge Park
Boat ramp at the very top of the lake on the Chattahoochee arm near Lula, one of the nine formerly Corps-run sites Hall County stepped in to operate in 2025. Shallow, narrow water up here, so it is among the first places affected when the lake drops.
-
Clarks Bridge Park
Three-lane city ramp at the north end, part of the Lake Lanier Olympic Park rowing and canoe venue. Launch fee applies and there is trailer parking, but the lot and the water get busy when regattas are running.
-
Don Carter State Park
Georgia state park at the far north end of the lake with boat ramps and docks reaching both Lanier and the Chattahoochee River, plus cottages, campsites and trails. A daily ParkPass is required for parking, and the designated swim beach has been closed because of low water.
-
Laurel Park
Hall County park on the Chattahoochee arm with several ramp lanes and lots big enough for hundreds of trucks and trailers, so it is one of the easier north end launches on a busy weekend. Ball fields, playgrounds, picnic shelters, a dog park and a walking trail are in the same park.
-
Little Hall Park
Four-lane ramp with a swim beach and picnic shelters, now jointly run by the Corps and Hall County. Day use fee is charged at a card-only kiosk that also sells the annual pass, and the ramp side stays open 24 hours.
-
Little River Park
Two-lane ramp and day use area jointly run by the Corps and Hall County. You need an annual pass displayed in the vehicle here because passes are not sold on site, so buy one at Little Hall, Van Pugh North, Burton Mill, Old Federal or Balus Creek first.
-
Lula Park
Boat ramp off GA 52 near Lula at the north end of the lake, now operated with Hall County after the Corps staffing cuts. Plain ramp and parking, no amenities to speak of.
-
Lumpkin County Park
County-run access point at the top of the Chestatee arm, the northernmost public launch on the lake. Basic ramp and parking; it is a long run down to the main lake from here.
-
Mountain View Park
Single-lane ramp with a courtesy dock on Old 141 Road off Browns Bridge Road, jointly run by the Corps and Hall County. Parking is tight for a weekend crowd.
-
River Forks Park
Hall County park and campground on the Chestatee arm with a single-lane ramp, parking and a launch fee. The park sells its own annual pass, which is separate from the Corps pass.
-
Robinson Park
Two-lane ramp off Robinson Road near Dawsonville Highway, jointly run by the Corps and Hall County. Day use area with parking; it sits well up the lake so the water can get thin here in a drawdown.
-
Simpson Park
Single-lane water access point on the Gainesville side, now jointly operated by the Corps and Hall County. Just a ramp and parking, no beach or shelters.
-
Wahoo Creek Park
Single-lane ramp on Mount Vernon Road at the far north end, run by Hall County Parks. Quiet creek arm launch a long way from the busy south end; call the county for current status.
Mid lake 16
Flowery Branch, Cumming and the middle of the lake.
-
Bald Ridge Creek Park
Single-lane ramp at the Bald Ridge Creek campground off Bald Ridge Road, with trailer parking and a fee. Reservations are needed for camping but day launching is open.
-
Bethel Park
Three-lane ramp with a dock on Swiss Air Road off Bethel Road, with parking and a launch fee. Mid-lake location that gets steady traffic on summer weekends.
-
Burton Mill Park
Two-lane ramp on Yacht Club Road off Gaines Ferry Road, jointly run by the Corps and Hall County, with a fee kiosk that sells annual passes. This ramp has been shut before when lake levels dropped, so check it before hauling a boat over.
-
Charleston Park
Forsyth County park off Browns Bridge Road with a three-lane ramp, picnic area with grills, restrooms and a shoreline trail. County fee is 10 dollars a day or 60 dollars a year, and a Corps pass will not get you in here.
-
Keiths Bridge Park
Two-lane ramp on Old Keith Bridge Road that moved to Forsyth County co-management in 2026. It runs seasonally, roughly late March through late September, so call the county before you tow out there in the off season.
-
Long Hollow Park
Two-lane ramp on Bryant Road with parking, now under Forsyth County co-management. It operates seasonally, roughly late March through late September, so it is gated much of the off season.
-
Mary Alice Park
Forsyth County park off Bald Ridge Road with a three-lane ramp, a courtesy dock and a beach. It fills to capacity on weekends and holidays and then closes the gate for the rest of the day with no re-entry, so get there early; digital signs on Mary Alice Park Road show whether it is still open.
-
Old Federal Day Use Park
Multi-lane ramp, three to four wide, with a swim beach and picnic area on Old Federal Road, jointly run by the Corps and Hall County. Day use fee at a card-only kiosk that also sells annual passes; a campground is next door.
-
Shady Grove Park and Campground
Forsyth County campground with a single-lane ramp and parking on the Cumming side of the lake. Reservations required to camp, day use and launching for a fee.
-
Six Mile Creek Park
Forsyth County launch off Browns Bridge Road with a three-lane ramp and bank fishing, no frills beyond that. County day use fee applies and the ramp is open 24 hours.
-
Tidwell Park
Three-lane water access point on the Forsyth side with parking and a fee. Moved to county co-management in 2026 with fees and hours still being finalized, so check with Forsyth County Parks and Recreation.
-
Two Mile Creek Park
Single-lane ramp off Bethel Road with parking, now co-managed by Forsyth County since 2026. Small creek-arm launch, easy to get in and out of when the main ramps are backed up.
-
Van Pugh North Park
Three-lane ramp and day use area off Gaines Ferry Road, now jointly run by the Corps and Hall County. Day use fee at a card-only kiosk that also sells the annual pass, first-come picnic shelters, and the ramp side is open 24 hours.
-
Van Pugh South Park
Single-lane ramp at the Van Pugh South campground on the Flowery Branch side, with parking and a fee. Smaller and slower than Van Pugh North next door.
-
Vanns Tavern Park
One of the wider ramps on the lake at about four lanes, with trailer parking, sitting mid-lake off Browns Bridge Road. It moved to Forsyth County co-management in 2026 and fees and hours were still being set, so call the county first.
-
Young Deer Creek Park
Forsyth County park on Heard Road with a three-lane ramp, a courtesy dock, a swim area and a pavilion. County fee applies; it is one of the more usable mid-lake launches because of the dock.
South end 1
Buford, the islands and the water near the dam.
-
Buford Dam Park
Corps day use park right at the dam with a boat launch ramp, picnic areas and a fee charged per vehicle and for walk-ins. It is the closest access to the dam itself and gets heavy use all summer.
