Terms of use

The plain-English rules for using lakelaniernow.com and the Lake Lanier Now app.

Last updated November 1, 2026.

Who we are

Lake Lanier Now is an independent guide to Lake Lanier, run by Wanna Grow Marketing Agency, LLC, Cumming, Georgia (“we”, “us”). We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, any county or city, Lake Lanier Islands, or any business we list. Names of parks, businesses and brands are used only to identify them.

Information only: not for navigation or safety decisions

Lake levels, ramp status, depths, the boat map, routes, arrival times, weather, the “when will the lake come back” outlook, park and pet rules, events and business details are provided for general planning only. They come from public sources and our own estimates, and they can be late, incomplete or wrong. The lake changes faster than any website.

  • Do not rely on Lake Lanier Now to navigate, avoid hazards, judge water depth or decide whether conditions are safe. Use official charts, posted signs, buoys, your own judgment and official sources such as the USGS gauge, the National Weather Service and the Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Trip sharing and overdue alerts are a convenience, not a rescue service. They depend on your phone, its battery, its signal and email delivery, and they can fail. In an emergency, call 911.
  • Always check with a park, business or event organizer before you go.

No warranty

Lake Lanier Now is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss or damage that comes from using or relying on Lake Lanier Now, including the boat map, depths, ramp status, outlook or trip sharing. If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or $50.

Your posts and photos

  • You keep ownership of photos and posts you send us, including gallery photos and Lake Today posts. By sending them, you confirm you took the photos or have the right to share them, and you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to show, resize, crop and share them on our website, app, email and social accounts with your name as the credit.
  • You agree not to post anything illegal, false about lake conditions, harassing, or that infringes someone else’s rights. Our community guidelines apply.
  • We may remove any post or photo, or block anyone from posting, at any time.
  • Posts reflect the views of the people who wrote them, not ours.

Copyright and takedown requests

We respect copyright and want to fix problems quickly. If you believe something on Lake Lanier Now uses your work without permission, or you want a photo of you, your property or your business removed, email office@wannagrowbrand.com with:

  • the page address and what you want removed or changed;
  • the work you own, or why you’re asking;
  • your name and contact details;
  • for copyright claims, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized, and that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the right or are authorized to act for the owner, with your physical or electronic signature.

We usually respond within two business days. Copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act go to the same address. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. We remove the accounts of repeat infringers.

Listings and links

Business, park and event listings are free and editorial. We don’t take payment for placement unless a listing is clearly marked as sponsored. Links to other sites are for convenience; we don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for them. To correct or remove a listing, email us.

The shop

Shop items are printed to order by our print partner. Prices, shipping, taxes, returns and exchanges are shown at checkout. Questions about an order: email us. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Text and email alerts

If you sign up for alerts, we send messages only when something changes on the lake, plus the Thursday email if you choose it. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts or HELP for help, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. See our privacy policy.

Changes and the law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Forsyth County, Georgia. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
